Day 341 - Christmas Skirt

Maddie loves skirts so Mum made her one out of some left over Christmas fabric and she has worn it almost every day since. Today I had managed to not have it on her, but when Mum popped around with one for Grace she insisted on wearing hers over her pants. Not a great look but she was pretty happy with her fashion.

Day 340 - A Wiggly Goodbye

The Wiggles Celebration tour came to Canberra today so we could farewell the original line up of the band. It was a sad day for me, as the Wiggle's have been part of my life for so long, first with Amy, then the kids at Malkara, the kids I worked with as a Carer and finally with Maddie who adores them. I even teared up at the end when we had to wave goodbye to them, and pretended I was teary as Maddie stood on my toes. The excuses I come up with to try cover my emotional craziness.

Maddie loved the concert and spent the first part of it dancing to the songs and singing along. Then she sat on Claire's or Leah's lap and watched the rest while she ate. At the end Maddie tried to escape while I filmed the closing music mash up but thankfully Claire and Simon were on it, I think she was hoping to runaway with the Wiggles in their Big Red Car.

I wasn't pleased that there was so much of the new line up involved in the concert as I was there to see the 'old' guys, but Maddie seemed to like them just as much. The two new men sound and look OK, although I really am not convinced that they will need so much muscle. I was really not a fan of Emma's singing, it was horrible and hopefully does not sound like that in the new line up.

The trip to the concert was absolute chaos, I thought that it would only take us about half an hour to get there, and expected to be entertaining bored kids for ages before it started. But we actually got inside about 20 minutes late and the show started another 5 minutes after that. Boy was I wrong on how long it would take to get in. Even the Brumbies never had that kind of traffic when they were playing in town.

Day 339 - Reindeer Poo

As part of Nathan's Christmas present I am doing the Spouse's Christmas Countdown that I found via Pinterest. I did something similar for Gemma and Melissa, having tasks for them to do each day, and also for Nathan's Nan, who has gotten a little gift and a photo of Maddie everyday. Today's Gift for some of the people was Reindeer Poo which I thought was just too funny not to include.

I woke up with such a scare when I heard Santa call...
"Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
I ran to the lawn, and in the snowy white drifts,
those nasty reindeer had left "little gifts".

I got an old shovel and started to scoop
Neat little piles of "reindeer poop."
but to throw them away seemed such a waste,
So I saved them, thinking you might like a taste!

As I finished my task, which took quite a while,
Old Santa passed by and he sheepishly smiled.
And I heard him exclaim as he rose to the sky
"Well, they're not potty trained, but at least they can fly!"

Day 338 - Wardrobe Doors

Check! Something can be crossed off the list today, Maddie's new wardrobe doors were installed by a very tall guy from Regency. Today's worker left me wondering if Regency purposely hire tall people so that they don't need to use ladders, a definite bonus for insurance. It only took about half an hour to cut everything to size and install it, which I was stunned by, but I am happy with how they turned out. I think they make it look like an even bigger wardrobe than it already is, which is exciting, once there are some more shelves in I can start filling it with Maddie's things and empty out her current cupboard so we can dismantle it ready for work on the en suite.

Day 337 - Powerpoint Present

One of the things on my wish list for my birthday was a power point out the front with the intention of having some Christmas lights up. It doesn't look like the lights will happen this year, but I did get my power point which will be awesome when we get the front yard all sorted out and a door in the dining room. Poor Geoff had to work around the Maple tree that is coming out though, so I do feel a little bad that we hadn't already removed it. Doesn't it look awesome though, and he also changed the internal one into a double power point. I know small things, but I am pretty pleased with this present.

DAY 336- Christmas!!

Yay, its the start of the Christmas season and we can finally put up the Christmas tree. While Nathan was at work this morning Maddie and I assembled the tree, fluffed it up and strung the lights on it, which took all morning. Then When Nathan came home we finally started the decorating listening to the carols of one of the Country Christmas Cd's that Leah made up as part of Nathans Christmas countdown gifts. Decorating was much more fun this year as Maddie was a lot more enthusiastic with helping, here she is pondering if the bauble she put up first was in the right spot. We always start with the one that Karyn got for her first Christmas and make her put it on while I take crazy amounts of photos. I didn't manage to get any that I was overly pleased with this year though.

Day 335 - OMG COOL!!!

The Lovely Leah made me a couple of Christmas Cd's today to make my gift for Nathans Day 1 easier. Tonight is the first time that I have ever used the CD player and I have to say that it is awesome! It took me ages to work out how it opened though, I tried prying it open with my fingers, pressing random buttons, I even wondered if I had somehow missed a stacker somewhere else in the car. Turns out the screen flips out, and you insert the Cd's in behind it. I've always loved my Mazda but tonight it got a lot cooler.

Day 334 - Aww

Another one of Maddie asleep. This is how she was laying when I went in to tuck her in tonight as I went to bed. It's very cute. Lucky we have Maddie otherwise I would have had to find something else to take a photo of.

Day 333 - Dirty

Maddie loves to play in the dirt, bark, sand, basically anything that ends up with her being so dirty that I am tempted to go and hose her off. Today we met Leah and Grace at the park for a play where the girls got to play with Maddie's new car buckets. Yes we have buckets and spades in the car for her now, so that when we do go to the park when she gets bored of the equipment she can dig. The park here is awesome for the little kids but I do think the highlight today was digging for Maddie. She doesn't look very happy that we are leaving the park here.

Saturday

Day 332 - YUMMMMM

When we were across at Ali & Chris' last time, Ali made this awesome water. I'm totally addicted to it now and drink it all the time. It is so pretty and easy to make too, its just strawberries, mint and water. I will have to make it in my jug next time so it looks prettier.
