Day 340 - A Wiggly Goodbye

The Wiggles Celebration tour came to Canberra today so we could farewell the original line up of the band. It was a sad day for me, as the Wiggle's have been part of my life for so long, first with Amy, then the kids at Malkara, the kids I worked with as a Carer and finally with Maddie who adores them. I even teared up at the end when we had to wave goodbye to them, and pretended I was teary as Maddie stood on my toes. The excuses I come up with to try cover my emotional craziness.

Maddie loved the concert and spent the first part of it dancing to the songs and singing along. Then she sat on Claire's or Leah's lap and watched the rest while she ate. At the end Maddie tried to escape while I filmed the closing music mash up but thankfully Claire and Simon were on it, I think she was hoping to runaway with the Wiggles in their Big Red Car.

I wasn't pleased that there was so much of the new line up involved in the concert as I was there to see the 'old' guys, but Maddie seemed to like them just as much. The two new men sound and look OK, although I really am not convinced that they will need so much muscle. I was really not a fan of Emma's singing, it was horrible and hopefully does not sound like that in the new line up.

The trip to the concert was absolute chaos, I thought that it would only take us about half an hour to get there, and expected to be entertaining bored kids for ages before it started. But we actually got inside about 20 minutes late and the show started another 5 minutes after that. Boy was I wrong on how long it would take to get in. Even the Brumbies never had that kind of traffic when they were playing in town.
